Shared Education
In Wheatfield we are very proud of our Shared Education partnership with Holy Cross Girls. Our Shared Education Programme is supported by the EU PEACE Programme and has been running since 2017.
We have a long history of working collaboratively over the years; our P6 and P7 pupils were involved with Peaceplayers since 2001 and in 2018 our school choir won the Flax Trust Inter-Community School Choir (FISCA) for the second year running!
The Shared Education Programme provides opportunities for pupils, staff and communities to engage in collaborative and meaningful learning experiences.
In 2017 we focussed on P1 and P2 sharing outdoor play experiences. Over the years we have rolled out the programme to involve all classes. We have benefitted from using PEACE1V funding to plan activities, become Forest Schools, attend events and school trips together and we have enhanced our outdoor play resources and areas immensely! We are very fortunate that both schools are within walking distance which allows for lots of shared education opportunities.
This year we are excited to be able to welcome Holy Cross Girls back into our school. We look forward to participating in Forest School activities and sharing our outdoor learning experiences.
